Plagiarism Policy
Policy Plagiarism Policy & Similarity Check
JASSS upholds strict standards of academic integrity. All manuscripts are screened for textual similarity using Turnitin prior to entering the peer review process.
Max. Overall Similarity
Manuscripts exceeding this overall index will be returned or rejected.
Max. Single Source Match
No continuous match from a single source may exceed this limit.
Exceptions & Editorial Actions
- Exclusions: The similarity calculation excludes the reference list and standard methodological phrasing.
- Pre-Publication Handling: Manuscripts violating the similarity thresholds are returned to the corresponding author for revision or rejected outright, depending on the extent and apparent intent of the overlap.
- Self-Plagiarism: Undisclosed reuse of an author's own previously published material is treated under the same strict policy as third-party plagiarism.
