About the Journal

The Journal of Applied Sciences and Sustainable Systems (JASSS) publishes original research on the applied scientific, economic, technological, and social systems that determine sustainable development outcomes. The journal's editorial position is that food security, population health, digital transformation, and human capital formation are not separable disciplinary concerns but interdependent components of applied systems whose performance is measured by their interaction, not by their individual parts in isolation.

JASSS is organized around three thematic pillars agricultural and economic systems, health and clinical systems, and digital and human-capital systems that together constitute a coherent research program in sustainable systems science. Submissions are evaluated for the rigor of their methodology, the originality of their contribution, and, where a manuscript addresses more than one pillar, the strength of the systemic linkage it establishes between them. This structure is intended to give the journal both scope and discipline: broad enough to accommodate the multi-sector nature of sustainability research, and specific enough to maintain the editorial standards expected of an internationally indexed venue.
