Author Guideline

Thank you for considering the Journal of Future Learning Ecosystems (JFLE) as the venue for publishing your research. Authors are requested to carefully read and follow these guidelines before submitting their manuscripts. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's requirements may be returned for revision prior to peer review.

1. Scope of the Journal

JFLE publishes high-quality, original research that contributes to the advancement of future learning ecosystems. Submitted manuscripts should align with one or more of the journal's core ecosystem pillars:

  • Learning Innovation
  • Learning Resources and Educational Media
  • Digital Learning and Artificial Intelligence
  • Human Development, Culture, and Global Citizenship
  • Educational Governance, Leadership, Management, Assessment, and Future Competencies

Manuscripts outside the journal's scope may be declined during the initial editorial screening.

2. Types of Manuscripts

The journal welcomes the following types of scholarly contributions:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Systematic Literature Reviews
  • Bibliometric Studies
  • Conceptual Papers
  • Short Communications

All submissions must present original, unpublished work and must not be under consideration by another journal.

3. Language

All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally proofread before submission.

4. Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare manuscripts using the official JFLE article template.

A complete manuscript should generally include the following sections:

  • Title
  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review (if applicable)
  • Research Method
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgments (optional)
  • Funding Information (if applicable)
  • Conflict of Interest Statement
  • References

5. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should clearly summarize the background, objectives, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions of the study. The abstract should consist of approximately 150–250 words.

Authors should provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.

6. Manuscript Length

The recommended manuscript length is 5,000–8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

7. References

Authors are encouraged to use recent and relevant references from reputable scholarly sources.

References should:

  • Primarily consist of journal articles published within the last ten years.
  • Follow the APA 7th Edition citation style.
  • Be managed using reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.

8. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should:

  • Be numbered consecutively.
  • Include clear titles and captions.
  • Be cited within the text.
  • Be of high quality and suitable for publication.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials when necessary.

9. Ethical Considerations

Research involving human participants or animals must comply with applicable ethical standards and, where appropriate, receive approval from an authorized ethics committee.

Authors must disclose:

  • Ethical approval information (where applicable).
  • Funding sources.
  • Conflicts of interest.
  • Author contributions when requested.

10. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software prior to peer review.

Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct will be rejected immediately.

11. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage

The use of AI-assisted tools for language editing, translation, or writing assistance must be disclosed where appropriate. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of the submitted manuscript.

12. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the JFLE Online Journal System (OJS).

Authors should ensure that:

  • All required metadata have been completed.
  • The manuscript file is anonymized for double-blind review.
  • Supplementary files are uploaded where applicable.
  • All authors approve the submission.

13. Peer Review

Every manuscript undergoes:

  • Initial editorial screening.
  • Double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Editorial decision based on reviewers' recommendations.

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts before a final decision is made.

14. Publication Fees

JFLE does not charge any submission fee.

An Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable only after acceptance:

  • Regular Publication: IDR 150,000
  • SINTA 6 Accredited Publication: IDR 600,000 (applicable after the journal officially obtains SINTA 6 accreditation).

Payment of the APC does not influence editorial decisions.

15. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their published work while granting JFLE the right of first publication.

Authors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the journal's Copyright Notice and Licensing Policy before submission.
