Focus and Scope

The Synergy: Journal of Outcome-Based Community Engagement is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing multidisciplinary community service. The journal operates on a strict outcome-based framework, meaning we exclusively publish community interventions that demonstrate measurable impacts, clear quality assurance, and sustainable socio-economic or health transformations.

To facilitate targeted peer-review and encourage cross-disciplinary the synergy, the journal is organized into three primary publication tracks. Authors are required to align their manuscripts with one of the following pillars:

1. Agro-Economic Empowerment Track

This track focuses on community interventions that optimize natural resources, agricultural potential, and food processing innovations to drive economic independence, food security, and ecological sustainability. Scopes include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic agribusiness management and community-based enterprises.
  • Forestry entrepreneurship and sustainable agro-forestry practices.
  • Food technology and post-harvest innovations for community-scale production and product diversification.
  • Food security initiatives and agricultural science development.
  • Value-chain improvements for local agricultural commodities.

2. Health & Community Resilience Track

This track covers initiatives designed to elevate public health standards, ensure service quality, and build long-term community well-being. Scopes include, but are not limited to:

  • Preventive health education and community health resilience.
  • Quality assurance in community healthcare services and local sanitation.
  • Capacity building for integrated health programs and local health cadres.
  • Cross-sectoral health interventions (e.g., the intersection of nutritional health and local agriculture).

3. Social & Institutional Innovation Track

This track highlights the structural, economic, and managerial empowerment of communities, local businesses, and institutions. Scopes include, but are not limited to:

  • Institutional capacity building and strategic management training for local organizations.
  • Introducing international business and economic models to local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
  • Outcome-based training and educational frameworks for community learning centers.
  • Socio-economic transformation and cross-border community empowerment.
Mandatory Outcome-Based Requirements

Regardless of the selected track, to pass the preliminary editorial review, all submissions must explicitly present:

  1. Baseline Data: A clear assessment of the community's condition prior to the intervention.
  2. Measurable Outcomes: Quantitative and/or qualitative evidence of targeted behavior change, economic improvement, or health elevation.
  3. Sustainability Plan: Concrete quality assurance strategies ensuring the program's long-term viability beyond the initial service period.
