Institutional data management efficiency and the validity of student attendance records remain major challenges at SMPN 1 Saronggi. Conventional mechanisms in recording daily attendance, subject scheduling, and report card grade compilation pose a high risk of input errors and data manipulation, while limiting direct supervision by parents in real time. To overcome these issues, this study designs and develops a web-based Academic Information System (SIAKAD). The system integrates Face Recognition technology via Face-API.js as a facial biometric verification instrument and utilizes the Geofencing feature to precisely restrict the attendance location radius. The system design process adopts the User-Centered Design (UCD) methodology to align software development flexibility with
the step-by-step optimization of user interaction aspects. The system architecture is implemented using the Laravel framework based on the PHP programming language and MySQL data storage. Evaluation of the software's functional capabilities was tested through the Black-Box Testing method, while the usability level and final user acceptance were measured quantitatively using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. This SIAKAD accommodates three main access levels, including administrator, teaching staff (teachers), and students, where parents can monitor their children's academic progress through the student's account. Based on Black-Box Testing, all primary modules covering data administration, schedule configuration, grade input, and biometric attendance are proven to operate according to design specifications. Meanwhile, the System Usability Scale (SUS) measurement results yielded an average score of 87, which places this application in Category A with an Excellent predicate and an acceptability level that is fully acceptable to users. The implementation of this SIAKAD is proven to be able to modernize school administrative governance, accelerate information processing, and guarantee the authenticity of attendance data.
