3. Main Text Structural Guidelines

A. Introduction Presents concise and clear background information regarding the study, the driving rationale, current knowledge gaps, and a clear research objective.
B. Materials and Methods Materials and Methods must report the study location with coordinates or an equivalent geographic identifier, elevation, soil type or culture medium, climatic conditions over the study period, plant material or animal breed and source, treatment structure, experimental design, number of replications, plot or unit size, and the statistical model and software used. Reports of fertilizer, pesticide, feed, and other input applications must state active ingredient, rate, formulation, and timing. Species must be identified by full scientific name at first mention. Units follow the International System of Units (SI), and yields are reported on a stated moisture basis.
C. Results and Discussion Present findings logically and discuss them comprehensively against research objectives. Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially, captioned, referenced in the main text, and readable without reference to the body text; figures must be supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi.
