About the Journal
RIAM: Journal of English, Multilingualism, and Communication is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes rigorous scholarship on how English and multilingual communication are learned, used, negotiated, translated, represented, and technologically mediated across educational, professional, public, cultural, and digital settings.
The journal is designed to connect English language education, applied linguistics, discourse and communication studies, translation, language policy, and language technology through one central concern: how language shapes participation, access to knowledge, professional mobility, public communication, cultural exchange, and digital inclusion in multilingual societies.
RIAM welcomes original research articles, systematic and scoping reviews, meta-analyses, corpus-based studies, discourse analyses, translation studies, conceptual papers, methodological articles, and research notes. The journal particularly welcomes scholarship from multilingual, underrepresented, and rapidly transforming societies, including the Global South and comparable contexts, while remaining open to high-quality submissions from all regions.
